This awesome cigar bowl was made in the 1950s-1960s by Viking Art Glass . The color is Viking's famous "Bluenique", a stunning rich blue.
This was hand-formed, then dipped in cool water to achieve the fine crackle. It has a polished bottom-rim (see image 3). Glass is perfect and clean. Inner bowl has a slight even dulled area in the center from use. Invisible to the untrained eye. Priced accordingly.
Big - Measures 7.5" wide and 2.75" tall, weighs 3 lbs. The rests are fat and made for cigars, but great for cigs or incense. Retro Swedish-Modern styling. Lovely centerpiece item, great candleholder.
Image #4 shows this very large ashtray sitting next to 14" tall bluenique duck by Viking Art Glass, same era. (available at http://www.retroartglass.com/) .
This ashtray form is exceptional for cigar aficionados. The rests are wide and flat, the size is large but not too large, and it is deep enough for efficient and tidy cigar service. It's also a fabulous eye-catcher.
