SOLD Blue Moon & Star  Glass Cigar Sized Ashtray

Awesome L.E. Smith Glass, Moon & Star pattern ashtray made in the 1940s - 1960s. Deep full moons with stars in the center encircle a large center star, in a beautiful blue. Original Moon & Star pattern was designed in the late 1800's.  The pattern, with slight variations survived in popularity until the 1970's. Measures 8.25" wide, 1.5" tall, weighs 2 lbs. Six large rests. In great condition with two professionally smoothed rim chiggers.  Rim chiggers are often found on the inner edge of vintage glass ashtrays as the area was used for tapping pipes, etc.  This ashtray had 2 very tiny rim chiggers that were ground and polished till smooth. Great ashtray for that "once in a blue moon" smoke. Makes a fine incense burner or candleholder when not in ash service.
