Blenko Volcano Art Glass Ashtray

SOLD Deep textured organic form art glass ashtray.

Blenko Art glass part no. 756.  According to one of Blenko's numbering systems, the part no. means made in 1975, design no. 6.  Also, according to Blenko's numbering systems, part no.'s in the 700's were used in the 1950s.

Image 2 shows actual color best.  It looks like Blenko blue, but the varying thickness of the glass enables a color range of light blue to deep, dark blue.  This may be a 1950s piece.  It is as least as old as 1975.

Awesome lava like form.  Deep pressed peaks and valleys on the backside cause the smooth surface to undulate, almost shimmer, with varying intensities of the beautiful dark blue/green teal color.

It was hand-formed, hand-pressed. Heavyweight glass of fine quality.  No inclusions or unwanted lines. Stands on 3 tiny spiked feet protruding from the peaks and valleys.

Measures 7" long, 6.25" wide and 1.75" tall.  Weighs 3 lbs.  Doubles as a catch-all, candleholder, incense burner, flower float, etc.
