Viking Pilot Art Glass Cigar Ashtray Set

SOLD   Magnificent set of huge nautical wheel shaped ashtrays in heavy black art glass.

Set of TWO. Perfect for the party boat, seashore, deck, backyard or home decor!  Vintage Viking Art Glass made in the 1940s to 1950s.  Viking catalog part no. 773.  Viking called this style "Pilot". Viking was referring to the nautical type pilot since this ashtray resembles a ship's wheel. HUGE. Large ashtray measures 8" wide, 10" wide from rest to rest, and 2.25" tall.  Weighs 3.5 lbs. Medium ashtray measures 7.5 from rest to rest, 1.5" tall, weighs 2 lbs  In excellent condition.  Bright and shiny opaque black onyx glass. No signs of wear on the large ashtray. Medium-sized ashtray has some minute useage scratching in center of bowl, probably caused by pipe tapping. Hard to find!  Very scarce items. Stunning. Deco styling. Fabulous relics from the days of rapid modernization.  Perfect for all types of smokes, incense, candles, catch-all, etc.
