Maleras Glassworks Falcon landing art glass ashtray.

Mats Jonasson was the leader of Maleras Glassworks in Sweden.  He employed Scandinavian greats such as Eva Englund, Ingeborg Lundrin & Erika Hoglund.  His glassworks are closely associated with Kosta and Orrefors.
Nordic art glass often resembles the area's nature, in this case, it looks just like iice.  The bird, which is a type of falcon, is a detailed, deeply acid etched carving.
This ashtray was made between 1960-1980.  It is unsigned, but positively belongs to the Wildlife line by Jonasson.
Made of pure, flawless, thick crystal.  There is a small nick on the edge near a rest which has been polished smooth and is still visible if studied closely.
Inner edges are beveled.  Outer walls are slightly frosted.  Measures  4.5" wide, 1.25" tall. Rests are small and deep.  The inner surface is smooth, with the deep falcon carving on the reverse.
