1950s Japan modernist stacking ashtray set

Set of 4 lacquered resin molded ashtrays.

Blood red fading to black glossy lacquer.  Very rich amd mysterious looking.

Sturdy construction of molded resin. In very good shape for being over 50 years old.  Very light, thin useage scratches in centers. Small black enamel miss on sharp end that can be seen in the images and another on a ridge.  These signs of use are minimal and would only be noticed if someone studied it closely.

Marked on the base of each "Made in Japan - Igarashi - Aizuwakamatsu".

Each measure 5" square, 3/4" deep.  Stack perfectly.  Handy items for passing around at parties...light yet sturdy.  Deep for their size, helps keep the mess in.  Rests are wide enough for cigars, flat enough for smaller smokes.
