Fiery 1950s freeform glass ash bowl.   SOLD

Retro modernist art glass in flame tones makes the perfect receptacle for your ashes.

Made of thick glass, hand-formed, with folded rims and pattern on the base.  The seat (base) is polished flat.

No artist or makers mark.  Probably Murano glass (Italy).  Could be of Scandinavian origin.  Made in the 1940s-1950s.

Measures 6.5" wide, 2.75" tall.  Weighs 2.5 lbs.  In excellent condition with medium bottom-wear (little scratches on the seat caused by years of scraping against surfaces - expected on vintage glass).

Superb ashtray keeps the mess in with a deep bowl and invward curved rims.  Doubles as a candleholder, catch-all, etc. when not in ash service.
