Robert Maxwell 1960s Mod Party Ashtray

SOLD Famous maker mid-century art pottery with crushed Blenko glass.

High-end art pottery by Robert Maxwell, an American (Venice, California) artist working from the 1960s to present.  Base is signed.

Made in the 1960s in cooperation with Blenko Art Glass, a popular glass maker of the time.  The center of this ashtray is inlaid with crushed Blenko glass.

Superior mid-century mod design.  Beautiful piece of work.

Large. Measures 10" round.  Multi-rest rim encircles the inlaid glass ash receiver.  Large well surrounds the rest circle providing for an ash-free smoke-end rest and paraphenalia area.  Great ashtray for parties.

In excellent condition.  See image 2 for inlaid glass closeup.  The crazing lines are expected and not considered damage.  Usually caused by age, and do not affect the integrity, decor is solid. They may have been there from the onset.
