Outstanding standing ashtray made of cast iron and decorated with a parrot, foliage and stylized 'Fleur de lis' French crosses.
It is in fabulous condition. The cast iron appears to have it's original black surface but could be a well done refinish. There is no fading, flaking or chipping. If it has been 're-surfaced', it was done professionally. There are some rough edges left from the iron mold that were not sanded down.
Stands sturdy. Measures 26" tall. Made of cast iron. Weighs 9 lbs. Old hardware is still in place, secure and in perfect condition. Marked N401 on the base (we think the marking is the factory number).
The amber glass ashtray is not original to the tray holder, but looks great and comes from the same era. The iron rim of ashtray holder has a match box holder and 4 wide and flat cigar rest guides. Made in the 1900s - 1940s during America's cast iron heyday.
Perfect for the cigar lounge. Made to stand next to a comfy chair or doorway. |
