Honky Tonk bar ashtrays from the 1920s set of two

          Pair of roaring 1920s nightclub ashtrays..

Small and heavy ashtrays made of thick hand-formed colorless glass. Designed and created to survive busy smoking atmospheres.  Perfect for the bar. Each weigh 1 lb.  Quite heavy for ashtrays that measure 4" x 4", 1" tall. The glass is antique with an old color recipe giving it a slight hint of yellow.  Inclusions of very tiny scattered bubbles, seen often in antique hand-made glassware due to imperfections in the glass recipe and old cooling methods.  Glass has some wavy lines, also due to old-fashioned cooling methods. All of the edges are heat smoothed, by hand.  The four rests are long and flat, will fit medium cigars to smallest of smokes. The round well is deep and features a slight hump in the middle for ash-rolling and butt-smashing. In near perfect condition with only a slightly rough sharp edge (can't see but can feel with fingertips) at the tip of the rest on one ashtray. Some bottom-wear, but not much...it appears these ashtrays were rarely used.  The condition is excellent for their age and intended use.
