Set of 6 Jeannette glass 1930s coaster ashtrays in like-new condition.
Gold lustre flashed Depression glass deep dish coaster / ashtrays. Back in the day, coasters and ashtrays were often produced for both purposes. As a an ashtray, they fit comfortably in the palm of your hand and are suitable for small smokes and to hand-out at parties. As a coaster, they cradle stems with a 2½" wide foot or less. The bowl is ½" deep, handy for both uses.
Not often found without wear to the golden finish. These are perfect, finish is 100% present. No bottom-wear, no chips or cracks. Probably never used. Measure 3" wide and 3/4" tall. Each weigh just over 1/4 lb.
It is important that this glass is not put in the dishwasher, not cleaned with harsh chemicals and/or scrubbing, or left out in the elements.
Jeannette Glass was an American maker of Depression glass (1930s). They made elegant glass for the stylish yet cash strapped consumers of the war years.
