Mid-Century Modern Art Glass Man Figure Ashtray by Viking

Hand-made art glass ashtray from the 1960s by Viking Art Glass.  Read more about Viking Art Glass.   Unusual decor of a simple human form.  The 1962 Viking catalog part no. 1109 shows a portion of the human decor, but does not emphasize it.  We've handled many 1109 Viking ashtrays, and this is the first we've found with the impressed decor. It's a big ashtray suitable for cigars, cigarettes and smaller. Plenty of space for candles and incense too.  Deep bowl helps keep the mess where it belongs.  Retro modern shape in golden amber glass goes well with all decors. Measures 9" long,  6½" wide and 2" (slanting down to 1½") tall.  Weighs 3 lbs.  In great condition with heavy bottom-wear (surface contact scratches on the bottom of the ashtray that have built up over the last 50 years - see image 3). Glass is brilliant with no chips or cracks.
