Include five ashtrays:
1) Peachy pink elegant Depression glass ashtray with a deep bowl. Shaped like a peach. There is a small rough nick at the tip of the leaf, hard to see, can be felt with fingertips. Circa 1940s, made by Cambridge Glass, OH. Measures 3½" wide and 1.75" deep. Thick quality glass weighs 1 lb.
2) Blue Magnolia ashtray by Hazel Atlas Glass in the 1940s - 1950s. This ashtray has small nicks on two of its corners that can't be seen unless studied carefully. Rare item. Measures 3½" square.
3) Set of two personal ashtrays in thick colorless crystal. Small enough to fit the palm of your hand. Both have rough inner edges (from stacking) and one has a chip off the base rim, all very hard to notice. Each measure 2½" x 3". Circa 1930s by Heisey.
4) Black amethyst pub ashtray. Looks solid black until held to the light and it reflects beautiful deep purple color. Glass makers didn't know how to make pure black glass in the old days, so they used ultra dark purple or red. Circa 1920 -1930. No chips, but does have heavy base wear (from sitting on surfaces for over 80 years) and some light usage wear in the bowl. Measures 4.25" round. |
