Antique Mercantile counter jar from days gone by.
In Excellent Condition. Marked “Imperial Cube” on the top of the lid. Made by the Imperial Glass Company, est. circa 1940 or earlier.
Mold formed with polished seams (not visible). Has a manganese mineral content used in early glass. Manganese causes glass to turn purple when exposed to sunlight. This jar has just a hint of purple, has not been exposed to much light. Manganese glass will glow green or yellow when exposed to black light.
Stands 7″ tall on a 6.5″ wide base. In excellent condition
