Description
This beautiful crystal Art Deco ashtray is acid etched on the reverse in frosted Iris floral decor in Georgia O’Keeffe style.
The hand-etched decor is on the reverse and glows through to the surface in a ghostly display of an Iris flag in full bloom. The leaves of the Iris wrap up from the base into the side walls of the ashtray.
The quality crystal is thick and highly refractive. In the images you will see some color reflecting in the glass. This color is a reflection of the prop cigar sitting nearby. Very beautiful top-quality Art Deco era ashtray.
Measures 8″ long, 5″ wide, 2″ tall. Four tapered rests fit cigars or smaller smokes. Nice deep well. Functional ashtray with exceptional artistry.
In like-new condition. Appears unused! Read more about Georgia O’Keeffe
The glass was hand-formed and contains a few tiny trapped bubbles, indicative of early mid-century glass. Probably made by Fostoria, an early to mid-20th Century elegant glass house in the USA. Art deco period ashtray, circa 1930’s – 1940’s.
