Stylish Danish Modern Holmegaard blown glass ashtray in Smoke Moss Green.
Signed by the infamous Danish glass artist Per Lutken (also spelled Per Luetken). Signature is hand-etched “Holmegaard” with Lutken’s mark below it.
Measures 5¾” long, 4″ wide and 2½” deep. Stands 4″ tall to tip of tail. Weighs 2 pounds. Thick hand-blown glass with large tool-formed cradle rest. Can accommodate all size smokes and makes a good pipe rest ashtray too. Cigar shown is a 5½” long fatty.
Base has a polished flat seat ring encircling the etched signature. In excellent condition with expected bottom-wear (tiny scratches on base caused by years of surface contact).
Holmegaard produced quality hand-made glass in the Danish Modern style during the mid-20th century. This beautiful dark mossy black/green ashtray was produced in the 50’s and 60’s. More about the Holmegaard Glass Factory…
