Description
A unique floral ashtray dispenser from the Art Deco era.
Made of brass. Marked (hand stamped) ‘Qaudrica’ on the tip of one petal. Quadrica is Italian for Quadric which is defined as “A quadratic surface intersects every plane in a (proper or degenerate) conic section”. We have no idea what that means!
The six petals of the flower remove easily, and when flipped over become single rest individual ashtrays. The six ‘stamins’ in the center are removable and have pin sharp tips that we assume are used for poking holes in cigars or clearing pipes.
Comes apart in sections for easy cleaning. Five of the six petals can be used to display a closed flower as seen in image 4.
Large, measures 10.5″ long, 5.5″ at tallest and 8″ at widest. Each petal ashtray is 4″ long.
Items shown in the Big Ashtray Museum are not for sale. Big Ashtray offers a large selection of antique, vintage and retro art ashtrays, plus modern-made ashtrays, for sale in the Big Ashtray shop. Click here to view available items….
