Hand-made by 1950s Italian Glassblower
Mesmerizing art glass cased in ruby and colorless crystal with layers of fine gold and silver veil sandwiched between. Looks like an exotic jewel.
This beauty measures 5″ wide and 2″ tall, weighs 1 1/2 lbs. Nice medium size. Accommodates cigars to small smokes. Nice as an incense burner or candle holder too. Note: when burning modern candles in vintage glass, be sure to remove the metal wick tacks from the base of the candle first. Metal can get too hot and damage the glass, but melting wax is not harmful.
Made in the 1950s when Sophia Loren made the rich beauty of Venetian/Italian styles so popular in the U.S. Actual artist is unknown as this is not signed, but certainly came from one of the better glass houses like Salviati or Seguso.
