Fabulous chunky Blenko Glass olive green ashtray.
Blenko Art Glass part no. 698. Made in 1969.
Beautiful, MASSIVE, vintage glass in excellent condition. Felt spots were added to four of the base waffle points. The felt is nearly worn out, but has protected this relic from incurring bottom-wear.
Measures 9.5″ long, 6″ wide, 2″ deep. Four pounds of solid glass. Blenko glass is known for it’s heavy stained glass type texture. Perfect for parties and outside areas. Accommodates cigars, all types of smokes. Long, thin rests are 2″ long and .75″ deep. Perfect rest for cigars, even the fat ones. Great for incense and candles (never use candles with metal in old glass). Waffle base elevates it above the surface.
Beautiful olive green color glows with the varying thickness of glass and lighting. Pressed waffle pattern in raised on the base and smooth on the inside, with inner portion of waffles slightly concave on the surface. Concave areas on ash surface are useful in extinguishing smokes.
