Solid copper ship ashtray with airtight lock-down compartment.
This is fabulous. We don’t know how old it is, but it is not new. In great condition, could be shined like-new. We haven’t polished the brass so the soft golden glow patina isn’t disturbed. No dents, no deep scratches, no corrosion. Circa estimated 1950s – 1970s.
The ashtray lid has a clear glass insert, the glass is in excellent condition. The base is held by a rubber like boot, prevents it from slipping and sliding. The boot is in excellent condition (with expected bottom wear). The “lock down” bolts screw down to tighten when the lid is closed. Airtight compartment serves as a stash container when not in ash service. Has 3 slim cigarette rests. No maker’s mark. Heavy duty, sturdy ashtray measures 4″ at widest and weighs 1 lb.
