Mid-Century Modern Viking Art Glass Cigar Ashtray

Scarce mid-century modern Viking Art Glass glass ashtray in deep manly blue.

Viking called this patented color 'Bluenique'. Hand-made ashtray with fat cradle rests and deep bowl. Made for cigars but useful for other smokes. Viking Art Glass was known as New Martinsville Glass before the 1940s. This eye-capturing beauty was probably made by New Martinsville.

The pattern is called “Three Foil”, Viking part no. 1102. It is at least 50 years old, could be up to 70 years old.

Measures 6″ x 6″ x 6″, 2.75″ tall – weighs 2 lbs. In excellent condition with heavy bottom-wear (caused by years of surface contact and expected in vintage glass). Hand-formed glass, no seams.
