Funky figural ashtray blows smoke out her nose and hair bun.
Figural ashtray of what appears to be a native woman wearing real brass hoop earrings. The earrings are original, but can be removed and replaced. The hardware is exactly the same as found on most dangle earrings.
An ample shallow cradle rest balances your smoke within the well. The drifting smoke rises and exits through her nose and hairdo. The rest is large enough for cigars, but fits any size smoke. Incense sticks will balance on the rest. Incense cones can be placed inside.
Made of redware, an organic pottery. Glazed in high gloss chocolate brown. The gloss causes severe reflections in the camera lights and makes part of the finish look splotchy and dark. The finish does not have dark areas or splotches, it is uniform dark chocolate brown. The base is covered with the original felt in very good condition. The figural ashtray is in near new condition with no chips, cracks or missing glaze. Measures 8″ tall.
Circa 1950’s to 1960’s. Probably made in USA. If the base felt were to be lifted, a maker’s mark may be visible. An amusing conversation starter for your next party!
