Peach ashtray by Barbini in gold laden quadruple cased vintage art glass.
Big, beautiful Venetian art glass peach ashtray weighs 3 lbs! Four layers of glass; opaque orange center cased in a thin layer of lattimo (opaque white), followed by a thick layer of lattimo with heavy gold, and finished with a thick layer of crystallo (clear). The leaf and stem, laced with gold flecks, was applied by hand.
Made by Vetreria Alfredo Barbini, circa 1950’s. The great Italian Barbini family of glass makers dates back to the 16th Century. Read more about the infamous Barbini family.
An ashtray masterpiece. Made by hand on the isle of Murano. In excellent condition. Looks new. Slight bottom-wear on polished flat base is the only sign of age.
The 5/8″ wide, 1¼” long cradle rest will fit most cigars. Perfect for all other types of smokes too. Stunning as an eye-catching decor item too. Measures 6″ x 5½” and 2½” tall.
