Antique Pipe or Cigar Ashtray Civil War Era Bradley & Hubbard

Early metal ashtray with colonial type man smoking a long antique pipe.

Raised decor of a man with long receding hair, long nose, high collar and wide cuff. He's smoking a long pipe with a stabilizer on the bottom of the bowl. Decor is indicative of the Civil War era. This ashtray was made in the 1850s – 1890s.

Made by Bradley and Hubbard once located in Connecticut, USA. The company produced metal utilitarian and decor objects between 1852 and 1940. Exceptional artwork, very interesting piece. Handcrafted.

Measures 7 1/8″ long, approx. 5″ wide and is 3/4″ tall. Weighs 1.2 lbs. It is stamped on the base with the number “70” in a circle. The number probably represents the metal foundry.

Rests can accommodate pipes, cigarettes or cigars. Has a hole so it could be hung on the wall when not in use.

Items shown in the Big Ashtray Museum are not for sale. Big Ashtray offers a large selection of antique, vintage and retro art ashtrays, plus modern-made ashtrays, for sale in the Big Ashtray shop. Click here to view available items…
