Very interesting ashtray made by hand in thick vintage glass with applied red on base and internal aventurine.
Looks Italian made, or could be Czech. Dates to the mid-20th century.
The thick walled glass was made in very dark red, so dark it appears black. Within this layer are swirls of metallic aventurine which glitter like gold. On the base, the designer applied thick red glass by rolling it together on a marver. High design and style.
Measures 6″ round, 2″ tall. In excellent condition. Nice deep well to catch the debris. Thick walled glass is sturdy, weighs 1¾ lbs. Sports four level ¾” wide cradle rests. Large enough for cigars, great for smaller smokes too.
