Stunning ashtray befitting of a fine cigar.
Blown cased glass clam shell ashtray looks like a set of hot pink lips. Big ashtray, measures 10.25″ long, 6″ wide and 4″ deep. Weighs 3.5 lbs. Hand blown in dark pink, known as cranberry. Cased in clear glass. Heat finished rims.
Two large rests, will accommodate cigars, can accommodate cigarettes. This beauty could double as a flower vase when not in ash service. Sits on a polished flat base with light bottom-wear.
The clam shell form was popular in the mid-20th century. Maker unknown. Probably Italian or Scandinavian or Czech glass. Czech maker Skrdlovice produced items like this called “Hospodka style” in the mid 20th century. Jiri Harcuba, famous Czech glass art instructor made items similar to this. Circa estimated 1950s.
