American made walnut wood case with amber glass ashtray.
Vintage American handcrafted varnished walnut wood ashtray case adorned with patriotic emblems. The heavy amber glass ashtray is original to the set.
Marked “Genuine Woodcroftery Made in America. The Wayland Woodcroftery shops were run by Eleanor and John Coley from the 1940s until 1975. Both have since past away. They were affiliated with the Steuben House for over 20 years. The Steuben House has long been esteemed a Revolutionary landmark which witnessed the birth of the United States of America.
This big well-made ashtray ensemble measures 9″ square, 2.5” deep and weighs 4 lbs.. The amber ashtray is removable and is made of thick solid light amber glass. The patriot star icons are made of brass and the eagle is brass plated. The wood appears to be stained walnut. Solid wood, not a composite.
