Robert Maxwell Stoneware Party Ashtray

High-end art pottery stoneware by Robert Maxwell, an American (Venice, California) artist working from the 1960s to present. Base is signed. Made in the 1960s in cooperation with Blenko Art Glass, a popular glass maker of the time. The center of this ashtray is inlaid with crushed Blenko glass. Superior mid-century modern design. Beautiful piece of work.

Large. Measures 11½” round, weighs 4 lbs. Multi-rest rim encircles the inlaid glass ash receiver. Large well surrounds the rest circle providing for an ash-free smoke-end rest and paraphernalia area. Great ashtray for parties.
