Luxurious vintage Venetian gold leaf decor ashtray.
Made in 1950’s Italy in Venetian style on the Isle of Murano. In image 6, an ashtray exactly like this one (in a different color) is shown with the original maker’s label which reads: Hand made Genuine Venetian Glass Made in Murano Italy Vetro Artistico Veneziano. Vetro Artistico Veneziano means Artistic Venetian Glass in Italian.
The label was used as an official Italian export label, actual artist unknown. Glass offered specifically for export was made by all the great mid-century glass makers in Italy.

Made with colorless glass with abundant gold leaf veils trapped inside.
Back in the day when everyone smoked, beautiful ash bowls like this were created with multiple purposes. Perfect as an ashtray and can be used as a catch-all, floral bowl and candle-holder, etc.
Hand-made vintage art glass in excellent condition. Measures 5½ long on three sides and 2¾” tall. Accommodates cigars, cigarettes and pipes.
