Murano Glass Clown Ashtray hand-made in Italy, circa 1960’s – 1980’s.
This vintage Murano glass clown ashtray provides a chuckle with your smoke. Because of the fat, red, round belly, this form is often called a ‘Tomato Clown’ ashtray. Inside the amble round ash receiving area is a half moon snuffer to smash the butts (not seen in images).
Each piece was handmade by an Italian glass artist and then applied together to form the clown. The feet and circle rim are in cobalt blue. The cobalt blue hat has applied rings of white glass. The hands, lips, nose, eyes, hair and ‘foliage’ collar are applied separately. Nice, thick, colorful vintage glass is sturdy and quality.
This Murano glass clown ashtray measures 8″ tall, 5.75″ wide and 4″ thick. Weighs just under 2 lbs. In like-new condition. Perfect gift for your favorite funny smoker and/or clown collector.
